Teaching Experience

Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, 1994 - present.
Member of the Leadership Program faculty. Teach 25% or ~ 200 MBA students annually in six class sessions per week. Manage up to six Leadership Fellows who consult to the 36 global teams that students are divided into. Overall Program design contributions include introducing the leadership learning model used as the integrating framework and logo for the required leadership and teamwork course for the last three years for all 800 first year Wharton MBA students, co-design of feedback instrument used for all students, co-design of peer evaluation system that is only one of its kind in top MBA schools in the U.S., design of the vision, global, feedback, political savvy, and leadership capacity class sessions used last year for all MBA students. Many of these design elements have been recently incorporated into the M.S. program in the University’s Engineering School in which I also share in the teaching responsibilities. In the four years that I taught in the Leadership Program, twice my student evaluations were the highest in its six-year history.

Currently, my consulting business has put me in an adjunct status.

Received the highest student ratings among all management faculty in 1994.

Professional Service Firm, 1989-1993
Taught three courses a year in Change Management and Leadership as a part of my job duties in Coopers & Lybrand.

Fortune Top 20 Company, 1984-1989
Designed the corporation’s executive development program. Designed and taught two Vice Presidential level courses on leadership per year. Designed and taught three middle management courses on Change Management and Leadership per year as part of job duties in Sun Co.

Business Experience

Coopers & Lybrand, 1989-1993
First Director of Strategic Human Resource Planning. Responsible for developing the next generation organizational processes for a 15,000 person professional services firm. Designed the firm’s first high potential track for students from premium MBA schools. Designed the template for C&L University, the firm’s next generation form for its training and development function. Managed six professionals including a Ph.D. and four MBA’s.

Sun Company, Inc., 1981-1989.
Manager of Organization Planning and Development. Responsibilities included organization-wide restructurings, cultural change, succession planning and executive development for a Fortune top 20 corporation. Designed and taught in the company’s first educational program for the Vice Presidential level. Managed a $1MM budget and 7 professionals.

Captain, United States Air Force, 1970-1976.
Served as scientific project leader and researcher. Major assignments were for jet aircraft hydraulic systems and solar cells designed to be used on space satellites. Founded and elected first president of company grade officer’s council.

Consulting, 1977-present.
Served as a consultant to numerous organizations including AT&T, Union Carbide, Buick/Oldsmobile/Cadillac Division of GM, Saturn division of GM, the Federal Aviation Administration, Rohr Industries, the FBI, Victoria Secret, Starbuck’s Coffee, Sears, J.C. Penney, Bell Atlantic. In 2000-2001, worked almost exclusively as a designer, architect for Ford Motor Company’s worldwide Leadership Development.
